In the Beginning… How top family lawyer, James Copson of Sinclair Gibson, helped us get started.

We let the facts do the talking …
In 2010 Alison Porter was invited by a top family law partner, James Copson of Sinclair Gibson, to help him investigate a ‘Black Hole’ in one of his divorce cases. His client, the wife, wanted to know how much of their marital money her husband had spent on extra marital activities.
The analysis resulted in a substantial ‘Add-back’ for the client and it became evident that there was a demand in the market for a niche service that could thoroughly analyse expenditure and income streams.
Alison subsequently founded Pennywise Consultants and since 2010 has been wholly committed to expanding the business and providing clients with a unique and exceptional service.
The Team
“To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity”.
Douglas Adams

Founder & MD
Alison is the face of Pennywise Consultants and the driving force behind its success.
She saw a gap in the market for a new service that could help lawyers both in terms of building a case and also with the pastoral care of their clients. Her charm and energy has propelled Pennywise Consultants from an unknown business to the nationally recognised and respected firm it is today. She also prides herself on being able to bring the best out of her team and loves helping them discover new skill sets.
Alison has many interests, one of her favourites being walking her two Golden Retrievers, Harry and Skye (known as the Pennywise Occupational Therapy team). Her team slightly dread an unscheduled walk which invariably clears her head and results in a big idea, the most famous of which is our referral directory, The Little Purple Book.
